Starlink tells Brazil's regulator it will not block X, then reverses and complies

What he said or did

Brazil's telecoms regulator Anatel said Starlink had told it the company would not block X until its frozen assets were released. On 3 September Starlink said we are complying with the order to block access to X in Brazil, while calling the asset freeze illegal.

Background

Official response

Anatel board member Arthur Coimbra said the regulator could eventually seize equipment from Starlink's 23 ground stations if it kept providing access.

What happened next

Anatel confirmed Starlink began blocking X. Starlink said it would continue to pursue legal avenues against the freeze.
