Background
The Parti Québécois, which pledges an independence referendum, won Quebec's election with about 28% of the vote; Alberta holds a referendum on 19 October 2026 on whether to remain in Canada.
Official response
Prime Minister Mark Carney said Canada's future will be decided by Canadians,
free from interference by large tech firms that think they can tell us what to do.
Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe replied No.
